Their main objective was to be the â€Å" the supplier of innovative RV products†. Eric Reynolds came up with innovative product called â€Å"Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device† , he thought that this product would achieve their goal and repaired RV d eficiencies. They wanted to market their product through their own company †EMR Innovations† , so that they believed that they need to pecify various fields with different point ;product , customer, money , competitor and â€Å"Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device† marketing strategies . The report analysis involve the main external and internal factors that would influence their marketing strategy ( SWOT analysis ) . Then analysis the current RV’s strategies and how their plans detail with the marketing variables of product, price, place and promotion ( four Ps of marketing) which are used to attain the marketing plan’s objectives and overall strategies. In 1995, the Reynolds started an RV repair business , and by 1999 they open their own shop in Amana, Iowa , since the business became large. On 2002, their business had steadily grown . However, they aspired to be â€Å" the supplier of innovative RV products† . For that reason Eric Reynolds innovate an innovative products that helped or repaired RV deficiencies.They though that this innovative products, which called â€Å"Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device† for RV patio Awnings, may provide great potential for future investments. â€Å"Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device† would protect the internal lock awning mechanism from tear, and prevent it from billow in the wind, in order to reduce accident and increase the efficiency rate. Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device became so effective idea to the Reynolds that they invested $10,000 of their own money to develop a prototype, and they had as sistance and support from an industry research center.Since they wanted to market this product through a new company† EMR Innovations† , they need to analysis different filed with different point . The main five point in the case ( According to Reynolds view point ) are : 1. Product Eric and Mary were confident about their prototype product , they had a sure winner in the Lock-Awn, however they were unsure about it . 2. Customer They had potential customers who had seen the product as positive product, however they were unsure about other customers satisfaction. 3.Money They had no enough budget and financial analyses to entry market. 4. Competitors They afraid of a potential competitor selling same product, which decrease the product successful chance. 5. How they would market â€Å"Lock-Awn Anti-Billowing Device† They had no market analyses ( marketing strategy ) to verify their belief. To address this need, Reynolds need to become with key decisions that relate d to picking the main target markets, the position, pricing, promotion, and distribution channels, and then they need to analyze the financial implications of their decisions.The end result of decision , will be a marketing strategy which will effectively launch the Lock-Awn product and EMR Innovations. External Analysis This analysis consists of analyzing the external environment of the company (competitors, social, technological, regulations, etc. ). The purpose is to identify the key opportunities and threats in the environment. Opportunities RV industry RV vehicles (RVs) are recreational vehicles combining transportation and temporary living quarter for recreation, camping and travel. RVs started early 1900s when nature enthusiasts customized their vehicles.The RV industry flourished after the World War II. In 2000, RV industry consisted of 135 manufacturers and more than 200 suppliers of parts and services. RVs are divided into two categories (motorhomes and towables) and five classes ranging from affordable vehicle to normal people up to luxury one ($ 500,000). In 2002, about 7. 5 million households owned an RV in US and projected to reach 8. 5 million in 2010. This offers great opportunity for EMR innovations to succeed since the RVs exist in considerable number and will grow in the future. RV culture As noticed, RVs are popular and used a lot in US.There is almost one RV in every 12 households according to study conducted by University of Michigan in 2001. The study estimated that there are 30 million RV enthusiasts including households and renters. The retired couples represent the greatest segment of RV enthusiasts since they are free and want to see the rest of the country. They used RVs for traveling since it offers convenience, comfort and freedom to go anywhere and anytime without plan in advance. Some of them are full-time on the road roaming around the country and live in RV. Thus, they want their accommodations to be as comfortable as possible .Most of them are willing to spend their money on accessories like auxiliary fuel tank, power booster and etc. In fact, Richard Dahl, RV owner, manufactured a water filter for RV plumping systems and sold it for $30. Later, he sold 300 more items and established new business for himself. This shows RV owners are willing to accept new ideas which eventually help EMR innovation to succeed. Threats Competitors People created so many types of awning lock to overcome billowing problems. However, most of them are homemade and people reported that they easily damaged.There is one commercial product called â€Å"Awning Saver†. Eric and Merry examined the product and found that it would not be a threat to their product since the awning saver is difficult to operate and looks similar to the homemade one. Therefore, there is no obstacle for the EMR innovation to enter the market. To sum up, the external factors show no threat for EMR innovation to enter the market. The process of defining a hostile work environment involves numerous criteria. According to the laws and regulations provided for in the numerous employment Acts, all employees are equal. Such has the implication that only skills and academic qualification must lay the basis of employment, rather than sexual orientation. Therefore sexual harassment practices, which is evidently common in the employment sector, remains an ethical issue as it promotes the concept of inequality between men and women in the community (DeLorenzo, 1998). This essay seeks to discuss three criteria that must be met in order to define a hostile work environment, namely; sexual harassment, discriminative employment practices, and discriminative employee promotion practices. The author also identifies the key ethical issue within sexual harassment. The process of qualifying a hostile work environment must entail the following among key criteria among others. First is sexual harassment. According to the underlying definitions, sexual harassment entails encompasses any form of unethical practices engaged by employers or employees against an employee simply because of their sexual orientation (DeLorenzo, 1998). Numerous findings have established that female employees have eminently been victims of sexual abuse in an organization in the quest for promotions as well as job security. Such have also been evident during the recruitment practices by companies were candidates follow victims of sexual favor requests by recruiting officials in order to be recruited. In addition, sexual harassment is quite evident in a workforce that is predominantly marked with members of the same gender. The third criterion for that must be met in order to define a hostile work environment is proof of discriminative employee promotions and awarding practices in an organization (Federal Communications Commission, 2008). Promotions, awards, and salary increments are by principle to be guided by performance and capability of individual employees in executing given posts in an organization. Therefore, discriminative promotion practices can be easily identified by examining the roles, leadership skills, experience, and academic qualifications of the various employees in the organization. Lastly, the key ethical issue within sexual harassment is that it negates the underlying principles equal opportunities for all in the society (DeLorenzo, 1998). The concept of equality dictates for equal treatment of all irrespective of their sexual orientations. Despite this, sexual harassment finds much emphasis in determining the enjoyment of company privileges as well as on the interpersonal relations among the company’s workforces. This combination makes letter-writing recursive (Jenkins and Hinds 1987: 327). In many British writing centers writing is taught with a focus on meaning, not form; on process, not product; on authorial intention and audience expectation, not teacher authority or punitive measures; on holistic and human concerns, not errors and isolated skills.    The British have been following two styles and formats in their letter writing methods. Full block style: In this method of writing a business letter, the text and all its elements is aligned to the left margin of the paper. Modified block style: This requires writing the text down the middle of the page and aligning the return address, date, closing, signature, and typed name on the same direction (down the text); the other elements of the text are aligned to the left page margin of the paper. (George Mason University Writing Center 2006:1)    A close examination of the elements of the letter shows that elements of the letter are the keys to a successful letter. The return address of the company the letter writer represents is important so as to facilitate the intended response reaching him after his submission. The second most elements are the date of letter. This is followed by inside address, salutation, body, closing, signature and position of the letter writer.    The British have long used this concept as a tangible aspect of writing their letters. British style is brief, straightforward, and polite.   According to George Mason University 2006, British letters follow a certain intrinsic format. This is as discussed below. Below are the structural of a standard business letter and their functions: Return Address: This refers to the letter writers’ address or the address of the company he represents Date: The writer leaves two blank lines after the return address. The writer spells out the month and writes the day, puts a comma, and then inserts the year. Inside Address: The writer leaves two blank lines after the date. He type the address of the person he is writing to. Salutation: The writer starts his letter with Dear, followed by the person’s name or ends this line with a colon if he doesn’t know the name of the recipient. Body: British culture calls for the writer to align the message on the left margin. He skips a line before starting a new paragraph without indenting. Also he makes each paragraph clear and concise. Closing: British style recommends you double space after your last body paragraph, then use a conventional closing, followed by a comma (sincerely yours) Signature: The writers’ signature appears below the closing and if he has no personal relationship with the addressee use both his first and last name. Elements and styles of writing British letters    English letters follow the above-discussed format and structure; however, there is a distinct style in the syntax formation and the type of words and references to use when writing a letter. Baron 2001 argues that ‘given e-mail’s stage wise evolution, it’s hardly surprising that commonplace depictions of the linguistic character of email (such as â€Å"everyone uses emoticons † or â€Å"the email medium leads to flaming†) are not universally applicable to the messages written today by grandmothers, job applicants, customers ordering on-line, or teenage girls chatting through instant messaging’ (Baron 2001:1). This change of style and the traditional methodologies of contemporary writing style I s blamed on three education reform systems; the Harvard, John Dewey and a student-centered curriculum from the 1970s onwards (6). Consequence of these reforms has been a away shift from teaching formal rhetoric to encouraging informal writing, typically placing more value on what the student wants to express than on the actual language (including sentence mechanics) used to express it. This has further led to an increased candor, coupled with growing disregard for the social and intellectual behaviors traditionally associated with upward mobility and education; have to do with contemporary writing style? We said earlier (Figure 6) that email and contemporary writing more generally tend to be characterized by informality of style, a psychological assumption that the medium is ephemeral and a high level of candor’ (7-10).   These changes in syntax and speech structure in writing communication letters are characterized by such inceptions and transformations like the ones below. Homer = home run Albany = AlbaN.Y. nothing = othing    Though these reflect on the traditional style and genre, these letters are still apt in the current American culture however, defunct in the emerging ages of the youth and affluent societies.   Ã‚  Ã‚   The emergence of e-mail culture and hackneyed slang lingo has left the American letter writing culture blunt and rhetorical. In Treimans approach to structural difference in the American English letter writing and speech form to the British one, she explains that American students spoke a rhotic dialect, pronouncing an /r/ in such words as leper, hermit, horde, and gnarl while British students with their nonrhotic dialect, did not include an /r/ in such words. This brings the difference in the pronunciation and spelling in the American style and the British (Treiman 2002: 3).    Various structural, spelling and syntax formation differences in the American letter writing culture embroider a challenging empirical research on the genre of writing letters the American way. By examining the initial sample, we find out that, the Americans align their names and address to the right then write the name and address of the addressee on the left. They are direct to the point though not very courteous and straight to the point. Americans use fewer English words in comparison to the British and seem to be in a habit of being rhetoric.    The reference is underlined while the date is below the writers address. The letter ends with a ‘yours faithfully’ which denotes self confidence and frankness. Its written on the right hand side of the letter. This shows a structure which has the personal references on one side and the references of the addresses on the left side. The British letter has the writers address and personal reference centered on the top of the letter. It is like a letter head. There are two references and all are on the left side of the letter. The first one has the references number of the previous communication and comes before the address and profile of the addressee. The second reference comes after the addressee’s address and is pushed towards the center and underlined.    The opening lines are aligned to the centre. This is meant to indicate emphasis on rank and respect by the writer. The body is brief and concise. The writer is up to the point as fast and with as few words as possible. Each culture uses the British style and genre of body structure while they have transformed their formats from the standards British format to suit their culture needs.   However, there rises a context of distance of cultures whereby we observe similarities   in cultures near each other. The British culture is being common in the formal Latvian letter writing style and culture. The same applies to the Multicultural United States and the Multicultural Canada. They share common styles and formats.
