Antigone

In the Greek tragedy, Antigone, the character of Creon fails in what he sets by to do and encounters un cheer, ruin, and counterbalance death because of it. The play opens with Creon, the king of Thebes, denying Polynices his rifle to a proper burial. When Polynices sister, Antigone, hears of this she decides to drop her crony, despite the consequences and Creon sentences her to death. When Creon asks Antigone if she is certified of the criminal offense she has committed, she explains her reasoning by telling her uncle that he, be only a man, had no right to deny her brother burial rights and says: Go on your own way; I depart bury my brother;/ And if I die for it, what happiness!/ Convicted of reverence I shall be content/ To lie beside a brother whom I love./ We have only a minuscular time to entertain the living,/ But an eternity to love the dead./ on that point I shall hold out forever.
